Venue

Coimbra is one of Portugal's most historic and vibrant cities, where centuries of academic tradition meet a dynamic scientific and cultural environment. At its heart stands the University of Coimbra, founded in 1290 and one of the oldest universities in Europe. Its historic Polo I campus, home to the University's oldest faculties, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013, while Polo II is dedicated to engineering and technology and Polo III to the health sciences.

The scientific sessions of JEEP2026 will be held at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, on Polo I, offering participants the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of the University's historic campus while enjoying the facilities of a leading centre for education and research.

Accommodation

During the JEEP2026 conference, Coimbra will be hosting the Latada, one of the city's most emblematic academic traditions. This students’ celebration, which welcomes new students to the University of Coimbra, offers a unique opportunity for participants to experience the vibrant academic culture and traditions that have shaped the city for centuries.

As the festivities may include evening activities and associated noise in some areas, participants seeking quieter accommodation are advised to consider locations away from Parque Verde do Mondego and Praça da Canção.
